QEA Energy Audit Report

The energy audit report will consist of the following:

  • General summary of the thermal assessment of building envelope
  • Quantification of energy loss and estimated costs of energy leakage through the building envelope

  • Consolidated report for the overall building as well as each predetermined zone and floor
  • Calculating return on investment based on estimated repair and financial cost

Outcomes

QEA Tech System has been developed from scratch for specific purpose application aiming for energy conservation and GHG reduction. It generally contributes to:

Appendix 1

Automatic Leakage Detection (ALD)
ALD window, as shown in Figure 2, provides an analysis platform to detect different leakage areas. In this window, the user can still switch between different images and color palette settings available, allowing the user to observe the analysis results in various formats.

The ALD window allows the user to enter lower and upper bands in which the ALD operates. These ALD bands can be entered in one of the two following formats:

  • The bands can be entered in degrees of centigrade format, dictating the lower and upper bands as degrees of centigrade where analysis is performed based upon.
  • The bands can be entered as a percentage point based on the available thermal range, allowing the analysis to be range-dependent.

Automatic Leakage Detection tool provides three different images, each one indicative of different heat leakage levels detected from the image. Each of the different leakage categories of the image, labeled as Low, Medium and High leakage areas, have a percentage point associated with them indicating the percentage of the image that each leakage level contains. High leakage areas are usually the most problematic in building envelope energy audit applications.

Appendix 2

Indexed Quantifiable Energy Audit (IQ)
This document presents the energy performance indexing system, created as an analysis tool by QEA Tech Solutions.

Infrared images contain thermal signatures of the building. Indexed Quantifiable Energy Audit (iQEA) is a tool in the QEA Tech toolbox which allows us to not only analyse the thermal signature of the structure, but also provide an indexing system to rate the image in three categories indicating the severity of energy loss through the building envelope and the urgency to make changes. The indexing algorithm combines thermal imaging and image processing algorithms together to provide a realistic and tangible measure as your energy solution.

The indexing system can be customized to fit the needs of the customer, or it can be based on the provided local and international standards. Our thermography-based energy performance rating system provides a baseline for your facilities and enables the company to assess and monitor the energy performance of your building.

Appendix 3

Economic Analysis

QEA is Quantifiable Energy Audit system and we can provide data for the economic analysis as well. Economic analysis forms the core methodology of making a decision about whether or not a building envelop repair/renovation project is cost-effective, or which one of several projects is most cost-effective.

These decisions require the knowledge of project cost and project benefits. Why is QEA economic analysis important for building envelope energy audit? To answer this question we at QEA Tech Company always consider if it was your money where would you invest it?

In this section we will explain:

  • Which part of building envelop is low return or high return project?
  • Never been done before projects
  • Is a project mandatory or discretionary?
  • How much is the money worth if you do nothing?
  • Where is the best part of an envelope with the current situation to invest your money?

QEA System will provide a report with Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Net Present Value (NPV), and Project cost, Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Cash Flow Diagrams (CFD), Savings & Annuity, Annual Value (AV), Salvage Value, Future Value, and Payback. We will talk with Customers’ financial language.
